Lenovo computer wont connect
I have a new set of computers to get imaged they are lenovos. However when I go through the pxe boot over ipv4 I get this far
Do I need to add the lenovos network drivers to our imaging server or is there some other issue? We are able to get older machines to image through the pxe ipv4 boot.
You need to add the driver to your winpe image
@theopenem_admin Can I do that in the toem gui to a current windows image and how sorry was handed this project without much prior knowledge?
You have to download wie_builder from the Download page: https://theopenem.com/downloads/#:~:text=Download-,WIE Builder 2.0.3,-2.0.3
Then you'll have to add URL of the Com server into the main script Manual-ToemsPE-Build.cmd.
After that you just have to put the driver files for client PCs into the Optional\Drivers folder.
Next just launch the main script in root folder, your WinPE is built and it has all the drivers you need.
@eruthon ok awesome. When I go to run the script do I run it in the Windows server that hosts our imaging or do I just run it from any computer connected and through that it will update the drivers?
No, you're a bit off here... you can basically launch it anywhere you want, you just have to have ADK for creating the WinPE installed on that PC. For me the most optimal is TOMES server itself, because you need to copy the output files into the TOEMS folder in Program Files.
The drivers are only files, that you download from the Lenovo PC's website and that you put inside the Optional folder of the wie_builder.
Your target here is to create a standalone Windows PE, which has the necessary drivers to be able to utilize the devices on client PCs, which drivers are not present in standard WinPE by default.
TL;DR: your guide is here: https://docs.theopenem.com/imaging/build-wie.html
