Deploying application
-
Hi
I'm on my first steps configuring OpenEM. I am following the document, now I'm trying to deploy application or program, MSI or EXE. I followed all the steps correctly, But the apps I deployed hasn't been installed yet. I restarted the clients, but still no apps installed.
so is there any additional permission I need to install them?
Because in SCCM, I need to add the SCCM user as a local admin in each endpoint, but no such a thing in OpenEM documents. -
Hi
The Toec client must be installed.
It uses the system account
Otherwise look at the log file in C:\Program Files\Toec\logs\service.log -
@cycy thank you so much for your reply.
i searched in the log file you mentioned, I found this error, I wonder what does it mean:2024-08-25 14:12:24,558 INFO [27] PolicyExecutor - Executing Policy 4b68ab3c-7fe4-4042-b90b-fc64f98f584f (Install Edge) 2024-08-25 14:12:24,558 DEBUG [27] PolicyExecutor - Evaluating Conditions For Install Edge 2024-08-25 14:12:24,558 DEBUG [27] PolicyExecutor - No Conditions Found For Module 2024-08-25 14:12:24,558 DEBUG [27] PolicyExecutor - Evaluating Conditions For Microsoft Edge 2024-08-25 14:12:24,558 DEBUG [27] PolicyExecutor - No Conditions Found For Module 2024-08-25 14:12:24,558 INFO [27] ModuleSoftwareManager - Running Software Module: Microsoft Edge 2024-08-25 14:12:24,558 DEBUG [27] ServiceProcess - Starting Command: msiexec.exe /i "C:\Program Files\Toec\AppData\95d39e86-2601-48b0-9a9f-75e12d5a5570\MicrosoftEdgeEnterpriseX64.msi" /q /norestart 2024-08-25 14:12:24,856 INFO [27] ModuleSoftwareManager - {"ExitCode":1620,"StandardError":"","StandardOut":""} 2024-08-25 14:12:24,856 INFO [27] ModuleSoftwareManager - Software Module: Microsoft EdgeFinished 2024-08-25 14:12:24,856 ERROR [27] PolicyExecutor - An Error Occurred In Module Microsoft Edge 2024-08-25 14:12:24,856 ERROR [27] PolicyRunner - Aborting Current Policy

@cycy
I think it's the first one. and that's what i mentioned in the topic when i compared it to SCCM.
So, what kind of permission openem needs to accomplish this task?
-
@amaury Does running this command msiexec.exe /i "C:\Program Files\Toec\AppData\95d39e86-2601-48b0-9a9f-75e12d5a5570\MicrosoftEdgeEnterpriseX64.msi" manually work?
-
@cycy said in Deploying application:
msiexec.exe /i "C:\Program Files\Toec\AppData\95d39e86-2601-48b0-9a9f-75e12d5a5570\MicrosoftEdgeEnterpriseX64.msi
I'm so sorry for the late reply, I saw your comment then I got distracted and forgot about it.
this what happen when I try to run the command manually, I've downloaded the installer from microsoft website. I noticed that the file size is too small. i mean not the actual size that I uploaded.
-
@amaury Let TheOpenEM download the msi file.
-
@cycy I can't, the server is offline for cyber security issues
-
@amaury In this case, download and test before uploading to the server.
