      @theopenem_admin I should add that I have 2 openem servers sharing this location, do I need to setup the 2nd server differently than the first server:

      Topology:

      Colorado network One Openem server with PXE
      California network One Openem Sever with PXE

      Both share the same smb directory

      The image that I am trying to use was uploaded on the Colorado network

      Any help is appreciated !

      Thanks,

      Aran

      @theopenem_admin That is true- I just am paranoid of the internet, and I like to implement IP filtering whenever possible. Thanks for the quick answer.

      @theopenem_admin

      We have a baseline of installs for each machine we have on our network

      so things like firefox, chrome, 7zip, vlc, zoom

      I have each one of these setup as a singular module per msi and then in the policy I am selecting each module to install.

      ill check the service log again and go over it

      The user is missing the needed permissions to join the domain for computers that are already in active directory. You need to find the correct permission.

      @theopenem_admin said in Fresh install and PXE not working:

      I'm confused with your proxy settings. In your initial post you say you are using the proxy but your images show that you are not using proxy.

      My apologize, I didn't try proxy, only tested PXE with vSphere UEFI boot. And it was working.

      Not sure he never replied.

      You just need to create an smb share at the root of your local storage location, then change your storage location to smb in admin settings-> storage location, then admin settings-> imaging client enable upload / deploy direct to smb

      The individual who makes TheOpenEM does offer paid consulting/service plans. I'd suggest giving him some money to make your deployment successful. See: https://theopenem.com/pricing/

      My company does provide general IT consulting services, let me know if you're interested in learning more about that.

      Howdy- I just noticed that there was a TOEM and TOEC update available- I was on 1.4.4.

      Patched TOEM and deployed the latest TOEC version- and now it's working. Case closed.

      Thanks!

      @brodeep

      I'm the other MSSSQL person FYI

      What I've done is set up a separate linux vm to house the MySQL DB to free up some CPU/ram on the TOEM windows servers. Since most of our other platforms are in MSSQL and we rely heavily on it for dashboarding/reporting, I sync the MYSQL db contents into MSSQL every 15 minutes.

      I use Script modules with the following Powershell commands, and record it using Add to Inventory Collection:

      systeminfo /fo csv | ConvertFrom-Csv | select "OS Name" -ExpandProperty "OS Name" systeminfo /fo csv | ConvertFrom-Csv | select "OS Version" -ExpandProperty "OS Version"

      Looks good, you shouldn't need to worry about the client log files. They are capped at 10MB with a max of 2 files.

      It's difficult to say. It really depends on how you are using the software, how many policies, size of packages, are you imaging?

      With that many clients, I would have 2-3 com servers setup. CPU and memory typically aren't an issue. Any modern CPU and 16GB of ram should be fine.

      I run 3 com servers, 1 internal(16GB), 1 external(4GB), and 1 dedicated for imaging for 1000 clients.

      If it's for imaging, you need to use the imagingclient_powershell script option

      nope, the only thing I changed recently was the IP address they Com server was using. I went from the inside address to a port forwarded address.
